Ms. Radwa Mahmoud | Biotechnology | Excellence in Research Award

Ms. Radwa Mahmoud is an emerging biotechnology researcher with strong expertise in cancer therapeutics, molecular diagnostics, and nanoparticle biosynthesis. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biotechnology at Cairo University, where she previously completed her Bachelor’s degree with distinction, ranking among the top students. Her research interests span breast cancer treatment using scorpion-venom-derived peptides, CRISPR-based microbiome engineering, antimicrobial peptides, and the biomedical applications of nanomaterials. Radwa has extensive hands-on experience in wet-lab experimentation, diagnostic assay design, cytotoxicity analysis, molecular cloning, protein purification, and computational modeling. She has led multidisciplinary research projects focused on early breast cancer detection and innovative therapeutic models, earning competitive funding support from the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) and winning awards such as Best Poster at SOLE and a Silver Medal at the international iGEM competition. Her professional experience includes roles in pharmaceutical research and development, molecular biology laboratories, and academic teaching support. Radwa’s growing publication record and contributions to translational research highlight her commitment to advancing oncology, biotechnology innovation, and therapeutic discovery. She aims to continue developing impactful scientific solutions addressing global health challenges.
