Professor Said Desouky is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in Microbial Biotechnology at Al-Azhar University, Egypt. He earned his Ph.D. in Bioscience and Biotechnology from Kyushu University, Japan, in 2012, following an illustrious academic journey that includes prestigious postdoctoral fellowships in Japan and the USA under Fulbright and JASSO programs. With over two decades of experience in higher education, research, and international collaboration, Prof. Desouky has significantly contributed to advancing microbial biotechnology, antibiotic resistance research, and sustainable bioinnovation. His scientific pursuits encompass quorum sensing inhibition, bio-degradation, and eco-friendly fermentation technologies. As a project manager for EU Erasmus+ and UNDP capacity-building programs, he has successfully fostered global academic partnerships and interdisciplinary innovation. A committed educator, he has supervised more than 20 postgraduate theses and continues to mentor the next generation of researchers. His professional affiliations include the Al-Azhar Entrepreneurship Club and Egypt’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network. Recognized for his research excellence and leadership, Prof. Desouky remains dedicated to addressing global challenges through biotechnology-driven solutions, promoting sustainability, and contributing to the scientific community’s advancement.
