🎓 Educational Background

Dr. Katragadda Suresh Babu’s academic journey laid a strong foundation for his illustrious career in scientific research and innovation. He earned his Ph.D. (2000–2005) from CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, with the degree awarded by Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana. His M.Sc. (1997–1999) was also completed at Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana, where he developed a keen interest in natural product chemistry. Earlier, he pursued his B.Sc. (1994–1997) at Government Degree College, Bhadrachalam, Telangana, establishing a robust base in the field of chemical sciences.

.💼 Positions and Employment

Throughout his career, Dr. Babu has held prestigious roles that have significantly contributed to the advancement of natural product research. He currently serves as a Senior Principal Scientist (2019–Present) in the Department of Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry (DNPMC) at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad. Previously, he worked as a Principal Scientist (2014–2019), Senior Scientist (2010–2014), and Scientist (2008–2010) in the NPC Division of CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad.

Early in his career, Dr. Babu gained international experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2005–2007) at the National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR), University of Mississippi, USA, where he further honed his expertise in medicinal chemistry.

He received the OPPI Young Scientist Award (2010) from the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), Mumbai, and the Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences (APAS) Young Scientist Award (2010) for his outstanding contributions. In 2011, he was recognized with the Best Performance Award by the Director of IICT, Hyderabad.
