Professor Swee Hin Teoh is an eminent materials and bioengineering scientist recognized for his pioneering contributions to biomaterials and tissue engineering. He earned his BEng (First Class Honours) and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Monash University, Australia. With an illustrious academic career spanning over four decades, he has served at Monash University, the National University of Singapore (NUS), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), holding leadership roles such as Director of the Centre for Biomedical Materials Applications and Technology, Chair of the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, and President’s Chair Professor at NTU. His research focuses on biomaterials, biodegradable scaffolds, and bone tissue engineering, leading to FDA-approved innovations successfully commercialized through Osteopore International. His scholarly excellence is reflected through numerous awards, including the Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award, Gold Asian Innovation Award, and the Distinguished Changjiang Chair Professorship. A Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and the Institute of Engineers Singapore, Prof. Teoh has also contributed extensively to scientific publications and editorial boards. His career embodies academic excellence, translational innovation, and mentorship in advancing biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine worldwide.
