Dr. Bidyut Sarkar is a dedicated physicist specializing in condensed matter physics, with a focus on magnetism and magnetic materials. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from the University of Gour Banga, followed by an M.Sc. in Nuclear Physics and a Ph.D. in Science (Physics) from the University of Kalyani. His doctoral research, titled “Structural, Magnetic and Transport Properties of Some Electron Doped Rare-Earth Manganite,” explored the magnetic, dielectric, and transport behaviors of rare-earth doped manganite compounds. Dr. Sarkar has qualified for multiple national examinations, including CSIR-NET (JRF and LS), GATE, and SET, underscoring his academic excellence. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at JIS College of Engineering and has previously contributed as a Guest Faculty at the University of Kalyani. His research interests center on experimental condensed matter physics, particularly investigating Griffiths phase phenomena, magnetocaloric effects, and dielectric relaxation in multiferroic materials. Dr. Sarkar’s scholarly work has been recognized through Outstanding Paper Presentation Awards at the Regional Science and Technology Congresses in 2017 and 2025. His ongoing commitment to advancing material science research reflects his passion for exploring innovative applications in spintronics and magnetic refrigeration technologies.
