Dr. Savvy Vasan embarked on his academic journey in dentistry by earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Baba Jaswant Singh (BJS) Dental College, Hospital, and Research Institute, Ludhiana. His passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery led him to pursue a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, Sri Amritsar. His education has provided him with in-depth knowledge and expertise in dental surgery, trauma management, and complex maxillofacial procedures.

Dr. Savvy Vasan has gained comprehensive clinical experience across multiple medical disciplines, allowing him to develop a holistic approach to patient care and surgical expertise. During his tenure in General Surgery, he assisted in surgical procedures and post-operative patient management, refining his surgical precision and patient care skills. His experience in Ophthalmology provided him with insights into eye-related surgical techniques and patient management. In the field of Emergency Medicine, he was actively involved in handling trauma cases and critically ill patients, which strengthened his ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.

His research work has provided valuable insights into diagnostic advancements and therapeutic strategies, enhancing clinical practice in maxillofacial pathology. His thesis research focused on the Analysis of Cyclin D1, Ki-67, and p53 Biomarkers in Benign Aggressive Lesions of the Maxillofacial Region and Their Correlation with Clinical Expression of the Disease. This study explored the molecular markers associated with aggressive lesions, aiding in better diagnosis, prognosis, and targeted treatment approaches. By analyzing the expression of these biomarkers, his research contributed to a deeper understanding of tumor progression and cellular behavior, which is crucial in developing effective treatment protocols for maxillofacial pathologies. In addition to his thesis, Dr. Vasan conducted a library dissertation on Fungal Infections of the Head and Neck, where he extensively reviewed the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment modalities of fungal infections affecting the maxillofacial region.
