Master Thesis Student at Technische Universität Freiberg (April 2020 – October 2021)

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Meinhard Kuna, Dhaval conducted extensive research on computational modeling of composite materials. His work involved:

Implementing the Direct-FE2 Method, which was integrated with the Cohesive Zone Model to improve fracture analysis.

Developing an ABAQUS tool to simulate composite cantilever beams, allowing for a deeper understanding of material deformation.

Conducting a parametric study to analyze the interface between the matrix and fibers/inclusions in composite materials, identifying the most failure-prone regions and improving material reliability.

Scientific Assistant (HIWI) at TU Freiberg (September 2019 – October 2021)

As a scientific assistant in the Fracture Mechanics Department at TU Freiberg, Dhaval worked under Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Meinhard Kuna on advanced material failure analysis. His key contributions included:

Working on the “Plasto Pro-Crack” project, focusing on fracture analysis in complex materials.

Studying the stepwise crack propagation and determining the Crack Tip Opening Displacement (CTOD), which helps in predicting material failure.

Conducting simulations and analyses of composite materials, aiding in the development of stronger and more resilient structures.

Internship in Maintenance Department at SV99 Auto Services Pvt. Ltd., India (July 2017 – December 2017)

Dhaval gained practical industrial experience during his internship at SV99 Auto Services Pvt. Ltd., India. He worked in the maintenance department, where he was responsible for troubleshooting mechanical systems, optimizing repair procedures, and ensuring efficient maintenance operations. This experience provided him with hands-on exposure to mechanical engineering applications.
