💼 Professional Experience

Project AssistantCentre for Advanced Material Technology (CAMT), M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology
July 2022 – Present

In my current role as a Project Assistant, I am involved in a collaborative research project with Boeing focused on optimizing the curing time of Momentive RTV 106 and 108 sealants. By adjusting the resin and hardener compositions, our team successfully reduced the curing time from 24 hours to 12-13 hours without compromising critical properties like Shore A hardness, corrosion resistance, peel strength, and lap shear strength. The project adheres to strict industry standards, and I continue to refine sealant compositions for better performance.

Through this project, I have developed expertise in various characterization techniques, including X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Tensile and Compressive Testing (UTM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).

🔬 Research Projects

Design Project on the Production of Chlor-Alkali by Electrochemical Process
This project explored the production of chlor-alkali through electrochemical processes, with a focus on mass and energy balance, equipment design, and economic viability. The project included safety hazard assessments and provided detailed insights into the technical and economic aspects of producing caustic soda, soda ash, and chlorine efficiently. It also included considerations for optimal plant location.

Eco-Friendly Green Synthesis of Carbon Quantum Dots for the Detection of Heavy Metal Ions
This project centered on the green synthesis of carbon quantum dots from bio-waste such as hibiscus, papaya, and Mexican mint. Utilizing a hydrothermal synthesis approach, the carbon dots were characterized for detecting heavy metal ions like Fe³⁺, Hg²⁺, Cr⁶⁺, and Pb²⁺. A variety of techniques such as centrifugation, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Photoluminescence, FTIR, X-ray Diffraction, Raman Spectroscopy, and TEM were used to analyze the properties of the synthesized nanoparticles. This project highlighted sustainable approaches for the detection of heavy metal ions using eco-friendly methods.
