Currently, Dr. Ahmed serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia (since October 2024), where he teaches undergraduate and diploma-level courses, participates in curriculum development, and contributes to international collaborative research projects. He is also a member of the Emergency Response Team, showcasing his commitment to institutional safety and responsiveness. Previously, he was a Graduate Research Assistant at Universiti Sains Malaysia, where he actively contributed to copyright and patent filings, ethical clearance processes, and research grant submissions. Lian-Sheng Ling obtained his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Wuhan University in 2000. He then pursued postdoctoral research at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from 2000 to 2002, followed by another postdoctoral position at the renowned Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany, between 2003 and 2004.

In 2005, he joined the School of Chemistry at Sun Yat-Sen University, where he continued his academic and research journey. Due to his outstanding contributions in the field, he was promoted to Professor of Chemistry in December 2011.
