Dr. Galib Hashmi possesses a strong academic background with remarkable achievements in engineering and applied physics. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Dhaka in 2019, where his research focused on “Efficiency Improvement of Crystalline Silicon Solar Cell Using Different Texturing and ARC Method in Bangladesh.” Prior to that, he completed his M.Sc. in Applied Physics, Electronics, and Communication Engineering from the same university in 2013 and a B.Sc. (Honors) in 2011 in the same discipline. His early education includes H.S.C. (2005) and S.S.C. (2003) from Mirzapur Cadet College, Dhaka Board, where he excelled in science.

He served as the Department Head of ECE (August 1, 2021 – November 20, 2021), an Associate Professor (March 1, 2021 – November 20, 2021), an Assistant Professor (July 1, 2016 – February 28, 2021), a Senior Lecturer (November 1, 2014 – June 30, 2016), and a Lecturer (June 1, 2013 – October 31, 2014). Additionally, he played key roles as an Exam Committee Member & Head Examiner at National University, Assistant Editor of the IST Journal of Business and Technology, and Project Supervisor for B.Sc. in ECE and MCSE students.

He has worked in several high-tech labs, including the Solar Cell Fabrication Lab at AERE-Savar, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, the VLSI Laboratory at Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, the Institute of Fuel Research & Development at BCSIR, the Department of Glass & Ceramics Engineering at BUET, and the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Dhaka. His laboratory experience has significantly contributed to advancements in solar cell technology, semiconductor fabrication, and material science.
