Dr. Husain earned his Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from IIT Bombay in 2018, with a dissertation titled “Friction Stir Welding of Steel.” He completed his M.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2008, focusing on “Corrosion Behavior of Ni-based Nanocomposite.” His academic journey began with a B.Sc. He began his professional journey as a Junior Scientist (2008–2011) and steadily rose through the ranks as Scientist (2011–2015), Senior Scientist (2015–2020), and since 2020, has been holding the position of Principal Scientist. Dr. Husain’s research expertise lies in Materials Joining and Welding, especially in solid-state welding and processing techniques. His work also includes failure analysis of engineering components, contributing critical insights into industrial materials performance and reliability.

With a rich background in project leadership, Dr. Husain has been the Principal Investigator (PI) for over 20 sponsored and basic research projects.
