Dr. El-Sharkawy holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Military Technical College (November 2005), where he researched the “Ultrastructure Effect Caused by Irradiation of Nd Laser”. He also earned his MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution in November 1996, with a thesis on “Blood Laser Doppler Velocimetry”. Earlier, Dr. El-Sharkawy completed his BSc in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Communication, from the Military Technical College in July 1993.

Dr. Yasser H. El-Sharkawy is currently serving as the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Optoelectronics Department and Professor of Optoelectronics and Biomedical Engineering at the Military Technical College in Cairo, Egypt, a role he has held since September 2021. In this capacity, he leads the Scientific Council and oversees departmental research initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with both academic advancements and industry needs.
