Her PhD research focused on the taxonomy and biochemical analysis of the genera Dictyota and Padina (Dictyotaceae, Phaeophyta) from the Indian coast. During her M.F.Sc., she conducted a taxonomical study of the Genus Grateloupia C. Agardh (Halymeniales, Rhodophyta), analyzing its morphology and biochemical composition.
