Prof. Lou began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from Northeast Normal University (1998.09–2002.07). She then pursued her doctoral studies at the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, CAS, where she earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Science (2003.09–2008.06). Her advanced research training laid the foundation for a career dedicated to ecological restoration and environmental sustainability.

In 2020, she was honored with the First Prize of the Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (Seventh Rank) for her work on wetland restoration technologies.
