🎓Educational Background

Dr. El-Sharkawy holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Military Technical College (November 2005), where he researched the “Ultrastructure Effect Caused by Irradiation of Nd Laser”. He also earned his MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution in November 1996, with a thesis on “Blood Laser Doppler Velocimetry”. Earlier, Dr. El-Sharkawy completed his BSc in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Communication, from the Military Technical College in July 1993.

Dr. Yasser H. El-Sharkawy is currently serving as the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Optoelectronics Department and Professor of Optoelectronics and Biomedical Engineering at the Military Technical College in Cairo, Egypt, a role he has held since September 2021. In this capacity, he leads the Scientific Council and oversees departmental research initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with both academic advancements and industry needs. Dr. El-Sharkawy is also an editor for prestigious journals, including the Journal of Engineering Science and Military Technologies and the Military Medicine Journal. He is dedicated to delivering high-quality education in optoelectronics and biomedical engineering, focusing on developing innovative course materials and employing cutting-edge teaching methods. He also served as an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and an Advisor for Prosthetic Projects. Between July 1993 and September 2004, he worked as a Biomedical Engineering Specialist with the Egyptian Armed Forces, where he contributed significantly to military biomedical engineering applications.
