Dr. Shih-Shun Lin holds a Ph.D. (2001) from the Graduate Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology at National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan. He earned his B.S. (1996) from the Department of Horticulture at the same university. His academic journey was marked by excellence, receiving multiple government-supported full scholarships for both his M.S. and Ph.D. studies from the National Science Council (NSC), Taiwan.

Dr. Lin has held numerous prestigious academic and research positions throughout his career. He is currently a Professor (2018–present) at the Institute of Biotechnology, National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Research Fellow at both the Center of Biotechnology, NTU (2018–present) and the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, Academia Sinica (2020–present). Previously, he was an Associate Professor (2014–2018) and Assistant Professor (2008–2014) at NTU. His postdoctoral research included work at The Rockefeller University, New York, USA (2003–2008) and National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan (2003). His contributions have significantly advanced the field of plant virology and biotechnology.
🏆 Honors & Awards
Dr. Lin has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards and honors for his outstanding contributions to plant molecular biology and virology. In 2018, he was honored with the Outstanding Young Scientist Award of Plant Pathology, acknowledging his exceptional research in plant disease mechanisms. His innovative approach to biotechnology earned him the Professor CY Lin Memorial Award for Innovative Research Program in 2015. Additionally, his academic excellence was recognized early in his career when he received the MOE Full Scholarship for Postdoctoral Fellowship in Taiwan (2004-2006). In 2001, he was inducted as a member of The Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society, a testament to his scholarly achievements. Throughout his graduate studies, he was awarded the Government-supported Full Scholarships for Ph.D. and M.S. studies (1996-2001) by the National Science Council (NSC), Taiwan, underscoring his academic brilliance and dedication to scientific advancement.
