Dr. Cerra’s research is dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of noble metal nanoparticles, metal oxide nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, and nanohybrids. She specializes in their surface functionalization using both hydrophilic and hydrophobic ligands, enabling structure-property correlation studies and improving their physicochemical properties. As Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the British University in Egypt (BUE) since September 2015, I have led the teaching and supervision of courses such as Dosage Forms Formulation, Pharmacokinetics, and Biopharmaceutics.
