In 2023, Taghreed served on the Editorial Committee for Advanced Research in Life Sciences & Biology (ARLSB). In 2021, she supervised a student project focused on protecting fig trees from mealybug pests using volatile oils, a project presented at the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity. From 2020 to the present, she has been the Head of Institutional Finance Research, with a focus on the chemical ecology of aphids impacting pomegranate crops and wild olive trees in Taif, KSA. In 2019, she acted as an arbitrator for a master’s thesis on the effect of marine algae extract on calcium dissolution. Taghreed has also contributed as a Board Editor for the Journal of Aquaculture and Marine Science (2017) and co-supervised a master’s project on the synthesis of pyrazolo derivatives in 2016. Additionally, she reviewed the Arabic translation of the book Islamic Civilization in Articles in 2015-2016. Since 2014, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at Taif University in Saudi Arabia.

🌱Field Experience

Taghreed has extensive field experience, including the extraction of infochemicals from trees, pests, insects, and surrounding bionomies using techniques like Closed Loop Stripping (CLS) and Opened Loop Stripping (OpLS) from 2021 to the present. In 2011, she also participated in aquaculture research at the Ramalhete Marine Station in the Algarve Marine Sciences Centre (CCMAR) in Faro, Portugal.

🔧Skills

Taghreed possesses a wide range of technical skills, including gametogenesis induction, a novel procedure she has developed. She is also proficient in cell and tissue culture, solid-phase microextraction, and solid-phase extraction. Her laboratory expertise extends to DNA extraction, PCR, and DGGE, as well as the use of advanced analytical techniques like GC-MS and UHPLC-MS. She has also worked extensively with ecological statistical tools such as MET-IDEA, AMDIS, CAP, and PCA. Her research includes infochemicals analysis and the scaling up of algal aquacultures for industrial and scientific applications.
