Professional Profiles
🎓Academic and Professional Background
Dr. P. Naveen is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his Bachelor of Chemistry at Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science and his Master of Chemistry at Bharathiar University. He earned his PhD in Coordination Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. During his PhD, he was awarded the JRF/SRF research fellow in DST-SERB. Dr. Naveen has published 14 research articles in reputed journals (RSC, WILEY, Elsevier) with good impact factors, four National Conference Proceedings, and three book chapters at the national level. He has served as a Research Associate at Bharathiar University and as an Assistant Professor at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science, Coimbatore. He later moved to Poland for post-doctoral studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun. Dr. Naveen has guided both B.Sc. and M.Sc. project students and co-guided 2 MPhil students. He is also a reviewer for many international journals.
💼 Professional Experience
Dr. P. Naveen is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Sona College of Arts and Science, Salem. Prior to this role, he worked as a Research Associate at Bharathiar University, where he gained valuable research experience. He also held the position of Assistant Professor at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Additionally, Dr. Naveen expanded his expertise during his tenure as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland, contributing to his comprehensive understanding of coordination chemistry.
🔬 Research Interests
Dr. Naveen focuses on Bioinorganic Chemistry and Organometallics. He is particularly interested in synthesizing transition metal complexes, especially Schiff base ligands, to explore their anticancer properties and other biological applications. His research aims to discover new ligands that yield metal complexes with unique properties, improved cytotoxic potential, and lower side effects compared to traditional treatments like cis-platin. He investigates DNA/protein binding abilities, antioxidant properties, and the overall cytotoxic potential of these complexes.
