Uvin is currently serving as a Temporary Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Extension, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, a position he has held since April 2024. He was honored with the Best Find Spotter Award at the Global University Bioquest 2020 in August 2020, recognizing his exceptional abilities in identifying key elements. As a team member, he contributed to winning multiple championships, including the Champion Identifiers and Champion Spotters Team in 2020 and the Champion Spotters Team in 2021 at the Global University Bioquest competitions.
